Reduced CO2 Emissions
In 2019, medium and heavy-duty trucks in the United States produced a whopping 456.6 million metric tons of CO2, making up one-quarter of the CO2 emissions from the entire transportation industry. FleetAero is committed to reducing negative environmental impacts by developing aerodynamic products for the trucking industry that reduce fuel consumption which, in turn, lower the emissions of greenhouse gasses, as well as other compounds that contribute to poor air quality.
“More efficient freight transportation can help improve air quality and mitigate climate change by cutting emissions. It also reduces costs, demonstrating the ‘people, profit and planet’ principles fundamental to a good CSR or sustainability plan.”
Increasingly, fleets are finding that minimizing their environmental impact is not only good for the world, but also for their bottom lines. For companies that want to include freight emissions in their sustainability plans, FleetAero’s aerodynamic products are valuable tools for achieving their goals. Their installation immediately creates an efficient fleet that can travel farther on every gallon of fuel, and that has a reduced carbon footprint.
According to an independent report, the combined installation of TrailerBlade™, ECOFLAPS, and Rocketail™ results in a reduction of 12.37 tons of carbon dioxide emissions per trailer per year.*
*Carbon reduction is based on 100,000 highway miles driven annually at 7 MPG.
The TrailerBlade™ side skirt accounts for a reduction of carbon dioxide emissions per trailer per year that ranges from 6.26 tons for the TrailerBlade 16’ to 7.28 for the PolyBlade side skirt.
ECOFLAPS has an average annual reduction of carbon dioxide emissions of 1.46 tons.
Rocketail™ has an average annual reduction of carbon dioxide emissions of 4.37 tons.
